Why Is NEC Leaving the PBX Market?

NEC is moving away from on-premise PBX due to:

  • The increasing shift towards cloud-based communication solutions.
  • Changing business needs that prioritise flexibility and remote work.
  • A decline in demand for traditional PBX systems.

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of cloud technologies, making on-premise PBX less viable. NEC is now redirecting resources to focus on growth areas in telecommunications.

End of Life Support
With NEC discontinuing its PBX systems, support, maintenance, and software updates may become limited from NEC Australia. Zero3 will always be here to support our customers, through ad-hoc, and ongoing Zero3 Care Maintenance Agreements.

End of Expansions:
At the end of 2025, there will be no handsets, or system being produced, this does limit the ability to expand your system. Zero3 will hold stock, prioritizing our Zero3 Care customers.(Licensing is no longer available for SV9100 CP10 & SL1100.)
