NEC - Recording a Voicemail Greeting

A guide on how to record a voicemail greeting on the NEC phone system.

• Pick up handset
• Dial 3999
• Enter Mailbox Number
• Dial 4 - 1 – 7
• Record Greeting
• Press # once recording is complete
• Hang Up Handset

Example Recording:

"You have called... (your name)… I am unable to take your call at the moment. Please leave your name, phone number and a brief message, and I will return your call as soon as I can"

A Few Tips to Remember

• All staff to record their voicemail greetings by following instructions on Voicemails Tab
• Update school's Emergency Management Plan to include Lockdown, Duress and Alarm features
• To Page a certain handset only, dial the extension number (or press one touch button) then press 1
• Keep the Mic button turned on at all times, so you can be heard when using speaker.
